Hiya.
I'm not sure if this should be here or in the Hardware....it seems to be Soft-specific, so that's why I'm posting here.
Ok. I just picked up a new graphics card (Oxygen GVX1 Pro; 64MB). When I work in 3DS MAX3.1, it's fast as all get-out. In Soft (with "Softimage3D" Optimization on or off), it's fast for a few minutes...then it starts to craa--aa-w---w-----l. It's almost like it is "running out of memory" or something. I've checked my RAM (at slow down, I still have at least 150MB free or so), so I'm suspecting it's the card's RAM. The scene's arn't complex; maybe 500 poly's [a proxy model for animation tests]. Wireframe and solid view [no textures; default lighting].
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to test or look for? Settings to tweek? I'm running a Dual PIII 600; 256RAM; Windows2000 with SP2; latest GVX1 drivers; DX8; no other programs in the background.
