Converting GeForce4 to Quadro4 in Linux

I'm still not clear about the advantage of Quadro over the normal GeForce.

I have tried softquadro(for win) years ago and couldn't see any improvements other than SPECview thing. In real world test like Maya Benchmark scene (the one with a lot of gears), FPS gets even worse with softquadro.

Also ,since Maya3 or later i don't see what's the errors that un-certified GeForce can not display. Pfx/Artisan seems to work the same way in QuadroDCC and GeForce3 at work.

So my understand for quadro boards, are GeForce with dual diplay capable (which is yummy). Please tell me the real world difference if i'm wrong.

It really has nothing to do with speed, but instead with stability and specific settings opened up that are used in 3d apps so you can tune it to each apps specific needs. Gforce line of cards have drivers mainly built and tested toward games. Quadro ones are built and tested toward 3d apps. Also since the quadro cards are more expensive I would think there is more quality controll with them.
