Alrighty, so I've got an annoyance I've been trying to solve on and off for a few months, and I can't find a solution, so I've come to you guys.
I export models from Solidworks and bring them into Maya for rendering, and it leaves these straight lines shooting off of the trimmed NURBs surfaces. Every file format from assemblies to .IGES to .STEP brings them in, and I can't manipulate them in any way or even select them unless I hilite the surface they're connected with. They disappear in shaded mode unless highlited and don't render in the scene, but they clog up my wireframe view and make it difficult to tell things apart. If I untrim the surface, or perform any function that rebuilds the trim, they disappear, but It doesn't always trim back correctly and sifting through every shape in my scene is a huge hassle. They also disappear as soon as the shape itself is out of view, so I'm thinking this is a display issue? I've played with my settings in the shape node and Maya as a whole to make them go away, and even tested my drivers, but I'm not making any headway. Google and various forums provide no information on this issue, so I'm at a loss.
Have any of you had this problem before and solved it? I'd appreciate any suggestions.
