Sourcing a Python script as a shelf button

Ok, so I know I am being borderline retarded but I can't figure this
out. I am trying to source a Python script I wrote into a button on my
shelf. Anyone have any experience with this? The shelf loader script
has all mel scripts that are sourcing and I was hoping to sneak a
python one in there. Since this shelf loader is a mel script what would
I have to do to get it to read my python script? If you can't tell I am
new to python. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You should add the path to your python environment. Also importing doesn't necessarily mean it gets run, so if its a function of some kind it needs to be called too.
