Here we go - I'm itching to order this system early next week (see my recent post-"What do you think of this System?"). So all you extremely wonderful and helpful people..here's your last chance:

If Anybody Knows Any Reason Why These Components Shouldn't Get Together To Form A Performance Rig For Maya & Max - Speak Now Or Forever Hold Your Peace!!!

• AMD (T-bred?) XP 1800+ cpu
• ASUS A7V333 Motherboard (this seems to be the most controversial choice - any ideas?)
• 1 Gig pc2700 DDR SDRAM - Corsair (non-registered)
• 1- 20gb Maxtor Ultra 133 Hard Drive
  1- 80gb Maxtor Ultra 133 Hard Drive (one HD for OS and programs, one for storage. Could choose Western Digital instead-Any ideas?)
• Plextor PlexWriter 24/10/40 CDRW (comes with Nero 5.5 Burning Rom-I hope I can use it to burn SVCD's!)
• Pioneer 16x DVD-106S (the cool slot-loading one)
• Windows 2000 Pro OS
• The famous nVIDIA 750xgl graphics card

Plus floppy and such (Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card?), all wrapped up in an aluminum Lian-Li PC60USB case with 400 watt power supply.

I'll most likely have this built at Envision Computers www.envisioncs.net , which I found through a great site www.resellerratings.com Highly Recommended!

You should get ECC Registered memory if the motherboard supports it.. how much for the system you listed?

Update-I may make a few changes following other's advice:

• ASUS A7N266-C motherboard (has supposedly more stable nFORCE north and south bridges)

• pc2400 DDR SDRAM (registered)

• Western Digital Hard Drives (new mobo only supports Ultra 100)

Plus maybe I don't need sound card-this board is supposed to have good sound - Anybody know?

This system configurated at Envision www.envisioncs.net costs about $2200.

So not including this is $1224.00 from www.micropro.com.. They don't have the vid card you want.. actuall the mobo may not be the exact board you wanted either but you can compare this to the other place.

I suppose you could buy the mobo and vidcard seperately adn get everything else from Micropro but I do beleive that it is better to have the one place install the CPU and RAM and setup the bios and then connecting everything else is easy.

Well Did you noticed that the mouse is missing... but I hope to keep an optical mouse with extra buttons in your mind cuz all your work will depend on them I suggest having MS Intellimouse its great.

Also having a look at Creative Live! or Audigy series sound cards they are really sounds great and for the speakers I would suggest having DTT 3500 Cambridge SoundWorks 5.1 Digital cuz I have one and they are fabilous or Creative Inspire 5700 digital both of them worth since hearing is just like vision or more.

Thanks you guys, you're all being EXTREMELY helpful!

Even though I could save some money ordering from MicroPro or some other company, I just feel better ordering from Envision computers ( www.envisioncs.net ). I don't know them, nor do I personally know anyone who's dealt with them, but from what I read on www.resellerratings.com Plus the fact that customized systems have a THREE year warranty, Plus there have been no complaints filed for three years with the Better Business Bureau, Plus they were super patient with me over the phone, to me all this adds up a company I hope I can trust.

OKAY - HERE'S AN UPDATE :

I'm choosing a different motherboard - the ASUS A7N266-C because of advice that I should stay away from VIA bridge chipsets. The A7N266-C has nFORCE chipsets, supposedly very stable - that's important to me. (But now I don't get 333 DDR, just 266 - Boo Hoo!)

I'm going with Western Digital Hard Drives now as they are Ultra 100 and the new motherboard won't support the Ultra 133's.

I could save $50 if I chose a Lite-On CDRW over the Plextor. Any thoughts?

Any last minute advice is still appreciated as I want to order this in a day or two - HELP!!!
