For the life of me I can't remember how to do this: I've made a spline IK for a tail. I've created clusters for all the spline CVS. I parented the root cv cluster to the hip controller and parent constrained the rest of the clusters to their specific controllers. I then parent constrained the controllers to the hip control. Everythign looks right, but the clusters transform when i move the hip control when they should stay put. There's something I'm missing. Would someone possibly have an answer?
Well if they are parented to the hip then they move with the hip. If you don't wan't them to move with the hip then unparend them from the hip. Or perhaps you're talking about double transforms?
I'd say its a double transform. The controllers are parented to the hip controller, but moving the hip controller makes the clusters move when they should only move if I transform the controllers that they are parented to.
Relative is on. I figured that maybe having the spline curve parented under the root joint might have been the case, only now I'm not sure where to place the spline curve. But it does solve the double transformation problem. I've done this previously without having to unparent the curve and it worked quite successfully. I don't know what I'm doing wrong this time, though.
