Just poking around to see if you guys have suggestion on a grid/Tabular layout i could use to show the result of a SQL Query.
The user has to be able to select rows in it by draggin the mouse on them. I started a simple test here, but i got stuck on looking for a control that would let me select similar to the textScrollList.
Just found out that the attributeSpreadSheet is what i'd like to get, but not been forced to display selected objects attributes, but rather any kind of text. The grid it provided was perfect. If this isn't possible with Maya controls and layouts, there might be a way to make my own control with .NET and add it to available controls in MEL?
basically, add the attrs to a null and display in the grid control, or, you will need to get a GUI up and add a Win32/.NET what ever control type. You cant really add custom controls into mel that easily (well, you could, but not directly into the main maya window, you'd have to use your own windowing system within a plugin and the controls in there).
The downside to that though is that you'd probably be restricting yourself to a Win32 only plugin....

Adding the SQL Query result, to a null object, then using the spreadsheet control to display it's attributes is what you mean?
