hey am looking for a way to import shape data from other applications into shake. And so far i have found one but a rather strange one - via the silouetteFX Roto plugin for AE - but since i don't have only a demo it's a no go. Has someone played with the shake SDK?
you don't need the sdk to write an ascii fileimporter, a simple macro could do it... (of course it depends on the kind of format you want to import?) it may be very easy or very hard some formats are made to make it easy....
I need to import either AfterEffects masks or an illustrator path. Have no ability in scripting.
ahh ok,well if you have a lot of courage and some time to loose have a look at some sample code...I don't know if ae / ai provides a simple ascii format, but from what i understand silhouetteFX is indeed the actual professional solution for what you are looking for...here is my contribution :http://animatic.no-ip.com/pub/dev/shake/#obj3dFileIn
Well thanks. On this page below there is a future link - someone is already working on exactly that problem. and i bet they are way better then me.
sorry to disapoint you but the "someone" is me loland i didn't do what was planned.... (to import/export more industry stndard shapes format) You know why ?because i saw silhouetteFX coming as a professional level tool for this (and i have more funny things to do know lol)
Sincerly yours
Hey guys.
The Silhouette renderer is now available as a Shake node that can render Silhouette projects (including roto, layer paint, and raster paint) directly inside Shake.
