Hi all ... okay, this is driving me mad... I'm probably missing the obvious... but...
I'm using fur. I have created a custom equalizer map for my fur description - a greyscale IFF image located in the sourceimages folder inside my project. It is actually a copy of an automatically generated map which works well throughout my animation.
Now i'm doing the following:
1. fur globals -> enable custom equalizer maps (maya goes to generate default equalizers, though I don't need them!)
2. fur globals -> copy attr maps - set to "never"
3. fur description -> custom equalizer attribute -> create new texture. (pick file, etc... all well)
4. fur description -> bake the custom equalizer attribute. (the correct path shows up in map table under Details).
5. save the scene
6. exit maya
7. start maya
8. load the scene ... woop! maya generates default equalizer maps again ... why the heck!? it's set to custom equalizer maps in fur globals!
I'm using maya 6.5
Please help me!
