heres a subd figure its one piece i tried making the head and limbs seperate but had difficulties conecting them any feedback is appreciated thanks
ummm sorry but it looks like one of those plastic blow up dolls that are used for sex toys... except maybe worse.
You need to work from reference
try to keep in mind that this is the student section.
It doesn't look that bad. Definately map some reference shots to your front and side view cameras. That way when you're tweaking your poly proxy, you can see how everything lines up and your proportions will be alot better. Also, don't rely on the subd model to fix things for you, you want your poly proxy to be super tight. that way, you know exactly what it's going to look like. have fun and don't get discouraged.
thanks for the comments do you know any sites that have front and side views
you're probably going to have to take your own pictures or draw them.
I don't think Fluf was trying to be purposely mean about it. Nor am I, and I do realize this is a student section. But to say this doesn't look that bad is NOT what you should tell the student (especially if they considered putting on their demo reel). You don't want him settling for anything less than full potential to help them get the job. Maybe if this was a very first attempt at a body, it's a good start. I think the foundation of using refernce photos has been established though, and we should see how s/he does from there.
Also Mod, Linx is right. Thesub-d won't solve your problems. Perhaps focus less on the entire body for now, and just focus on one part of the body. Like an arm (you dont even have to do the hand, just a good arm) and then when you get comfortable with laying out detail, attack the whole body.

I wasn`t trying to be mean.. I am a student myself... well just finished my course and beginning to look for work... I did say sorry first which was meant as an indication of my intent and followed by a realistic opinion... I did not mean to cause any offense in any way ![]()
thanks for the honest reply i will post some work using a refrence
