System requirements

Ok, I don't have Maya, but I'm in the middle of an argument about whether or not it requires:
128megs of ram and windows 2000 professional

so does it?

NO, on just Windows 2000, it can run on NT, IRIX, and Linux.
I'm not sure on the minimum ram, but the more the better.

I actually had Maya 2 (i think it was 2.0, maybe 2.5 though) run with only 64megs of ram in windows 2000. I wasn't able to get it up and running with 64megs ram in win NT 4, but it worked in 2k. HOWEVER, it did not work well. It ran slow and crashed a lot when I opened the hypershade. So it's possible, but maya becomes too slow to run for any practical purpose. I wouldn' recommend running it with less than 256megs of ram though.

is this a "wonder if" question or are you wondering if you can pull it off without buying anything.. ?

couse I mean .. hell , you can get a 256 meg chip for like 60 bucks right now. I hope thats not an issue.

Maya will run on Win NT or WIN 2k on the widnows side.
Don;t think you can run it with 98 or ME.

it is reccomended to have a minimum of 128 of ram although 512 is really best if you intend to do any serious work. Maya runs under Windows 2000 and NT4 as well as Irix 6.5.8m and Linux(Redhat 6.2 is qualified).
