The messages are irrelevant to your problem: they just warn you that your texture is big (2k), and that you should create a .map to have it more efficiently rendered. But that shouldn't be the cause of your problem.
What kind of image file are you using ?
Remember that MR is picky on the type of compression.
For example, it cannot use compressed Tiff's.
Messages regarding the rendering process are listed in the "output window", and you should be able to see warnings regarding your texture file.
