Hi,
I'm new to 3D texturing and haven't got any idea where to start or how to Texture using XSI.
I've managed to build a 3D model of a musical keyboard and now I have to texture it to make it look as realistic as possible.
By guessing and pressing buttons I have fumbled my way into getting a basic texture on it. But I'm having problems texturing the speakers to look realistic. The speakers are part of the main polygon model of the keyboard and need have lots of long thin grooves all over them.
I thought the best way would to use a bump map to create these grooves(is there a better way?)..... but I can't figure out how to even use bump map's in XSI
So I guess my questions is this:
A. Is using bump maps the best way to show some depth on the speakers?
B. If so how do I use bump maps and apply it to a specific part of a polygon model?
I'm sorry if this is a simple question but I really have no idea how to texture in XSI and the deadline is quickly approaching!
Cheers
