I'm self taught at 3ds Max and thus some of the finer and more basic aspects have been neglected in my studies. What I'm trying to do Is I have a humanoid robot with some small parts and edges to it. I made an open trench coat for him to wear ( I modeled it on my lonesome without garment maker because a robot coat has special needs
) but every time I simulate it as cloth with gravity, it melts off his body like hot cheese dip. an area near the hands will keep the sleeves on but everything up to the shoulder drops down below his chest. If I need to I can provide pics but this really seems to me more like a problem regarding my units. Is there a quick fix anyone knows of to get my robot to a human height, I did it manually and made him about 6 feet tall but the coat got all spiky and started freaking out. Or maybe you know something I don't, like I said, I'm self taught and may have skipped some important stuff about units.
Also,
Any good tutorials for using reactor for actual clothing?
Not talking about draping a plane over a teapot, I'm trying to put a coat on a body but it keeps telling me Body and Coat are interpenetrating. I've made sure they're not but I guess it has something to do with collision detection parameters? Either way I have no clue about how to change the detection so once again I'm in need of some help, Thanks for your time and suggestions.
