Some time ago I finished a game script, called "HOPE". I really did'nt have any time presenting it to my publisher, as I had two other scripts going at the time, and a lot of things going on my dayjob, so finished yes, but nothing more.
2 days ago, I read it again, and then it struck me... why not just make it in Unity, which I've come to learn a bit the last few months - Unity is a cool and quite easy 3D-engine.
Then I could perhaps learn something in the proces too.
My name is Jesper Johansen, and work in northern Denmark primarily with TV-advertising in Maya. Previously I spent 5 years at LEGO working with all aspects of 3d, primarily the Bionicle theme. I hold an animation certificate from Alias|Wavefront and a regular 2D Graphics degree.
I have published two books in Denmark, with a third on it's way.
Well, I really don't know if there's any interest in what I'm about to propose, but I think the script is too good to disappear in the vast amounts of paperstacks around my table.
Anyone interested in creating a game on shares in your free time? Meaning, everybody involved will own a share of the final product (if any). Much more on this on the website.
It will be a fun community on the side to learn aspects of the industry and the development proces too, and deal with matter over theory.
We start with creating the intro and level1 before we present the stuff to game-distributors. If no one will buy it, what is lost? We have gained a lot of new friends and connections.
I put together a quick website for the project, which I hope you will look through, and please give me your thoughts on this.
It was launched last night in the Unity forum, and I received mails from loads of interested programmers, and the Lead Programmer is about to be settled. I'm also considering a very interesting guy for the Lead Sound Designer position.
