OK, this seems to be a new Maya 4.5 bug. I just checked it out on my machine. I suspected there would be differences regarding mirroring with artisan between use with poly/subd/nurbs....but, thats not the case. What I did find however, is that mine was ghosted too...for all types of surfaces. The good news, is that I did get it to un-ghost, for all surfaces....the bad news is, there does not appear to be any specifice reason for it being ghosted, just a bug. To get it to come on, all I did was switch something off in another artisan tab, then back on again, and believe it or not, when I went back to the Stroke tab, reflection option was no longer ghosted. I promise you, thats all I did. I double and tripple checked doing it over and over. I found two things that toggle the ghosting of the reflection option....switching on and off on the "draw outline" check box in the second from last tab (can't remember what the tab is called, I just closed maya lol ) and also switching the "number of surfaces" option to infinate and then back again also toggles the reflection ghosting. Certainly one of the wierdest Maya bugs I have ever witnessed, but there you go.
