Hi Guys, can't find any answer here so I'm opening a new topic. The problem is this. I'm using Maya's Transfer attribute to texture a new object from another one but the UV map's giving me a lot of problem. The projected image's all distorted on several faces and I can't find a way to fix it up. I'm using Maya 2011 right now. The options of the transfer attribute are all set to default settings, except for the Sample Space that is set to "Component". Thanks for any tip you're going to give me.

Well uv transfer is a bit of a hit and miss thing. And for a cube its basically pointless*, it would never yield anything sane unless you happen to make a perfect match but than what would be the point.

So i dont mean you can reasonably expect a cube to trasfer even remotely properly, and that the trasfer is perfect to begin with.

  • too little data to grab on to so you would just get aliasing issues.
