Transform along diagonal

i have a group of objects that i would like to transform along a diagonal, meaning along a line that is not parallel to any of the xyz axis.
at the moment i cant really do it, i have to go x and then correct the y value so the new position is on line with the old position.

whats the smart way to do this ?

Type in the values

sure that is exactly what i am doing now.
but i dont want to do that anymore, it takes too much time and involves a calculation every time, its not very handy.
can i change the orientation of the pivot so it can easily be transformed along axis not parallel to world xyz ?

What ecaxtly are you trying to do? What "transformation" means in this case, scaling, moving or rotating?

sorry i thought that i made myself clear.

I want to move an group of objects. without rotation i can easily move that group along the xyz axis.
now, when i rotate that group, its local xyz axis has been changed, but i can still only move it along the world xyz, unless i do a movement into the y and x diretion to get to the point in space i want to reach .
basically all i want to know is if there is a way to get the transformation/move tool to adjust to the local rotation axis of an object or if it always will orient itself along the world xyz

doubleclik on the move tool an set the mode to local. ( Or use the marking menu under w)

Why didn't you say so in the first place.

Open move tool options ( double click on tool icon ) and switch to "object" or "along rotation axis"

You can switch using marking menu also. Hold the 'w' key, press the left mouse and select the option from menu.

thaaaaaaaaaaank you
