Bike.ma and Bike-roll.ma
I'm having a real problem understanding trax properly.
I've uploaded two test files here in MA format, a shitty tron bike that is just fine for the purposes of this test.
Please test this out if you can, I would love to know if people get the same results.
1) create a new scene
2) import bike.ma
3) activate BIKE as the current character (drop down box next to script editor button).
4) select BIKE (the character node) in the outliner
4) open Trax. go to File->import clip to Characters (hit the option box, and make sure it says "put clips in visor only")
5) file browser opens, select bike-roll.ma
6) open the Visor, go to Character Clips tab. You should have a clip named ROLLSource. Drag and drop it to the timeline in Traxx.
You should have a rolling bike.
So far so good.
Now:
7) import bike.ma AGAIN into the scene. (so you will have two bikes).
8) go into Trax again.
9) File->import clip to Characters, same settings as before (yes we are importing it again to the first bike, nothing changes)
10) go back to the visor, you should have ROLLSource1.
11) drag and drop it into the trax timeline at frame 200. (leaving the first clip in)
Scrub the animation. It should be completely wrong. On my machine, the second clip has been mis-interpreted: parts of the bike detach, parts stay behind. It looks like the animation was pasted to the wrong nodes.
So to summarize:
importing characters and clips seems to work fine, as long as there is only one character in the scene.
As soon as there are two characters with similar named nodes, pasting clips goes wrong.
I'm not using character maps because as you'll notice there is NOTHING TO MAP. This clip (bike-roll.ma) was created with this file (bike.ma).
So two questions:
1) can anyone reproduce this? (I can reproduce it 10/10)
2) what am I doing wrong?
