I'm trying to create a 2d fluid with lots of internal, complex swirls. Like a small bubbling smoke cloud. I'm looking for visible wisps and tendrils, not just a single solid blobby mass. Less cloud-like and more smoke-like. The results I've gotten so far are very simple with just two or three main swirls. I don't get the little swirls within swirls and swirls that break the outer edges of the shape.

Also is there a way to scale down the size of swirls? My smoke always seems to have swirls that are very large in comparison to the size of the container causing it to fill up the container too quickly. Simply slowing it down doesn't give me the level of complexity i'm looking for.

if you set your velocity swil to like 12-16 you'll get a ton of small swirls, burleik's right, you'll only get that if your resolution is high... (high as in between 100-250 in each)
I think to get the small swirls to move off you could try changing(uping) your turbulence.
