hello all. first off, i'm packing maya 2011 64 on a quad core in a Win 7 64 bit env.
1) I'm running into syntax errors while executing what looks to me like a simple batch file. the error shows up when i try to alter my primary final gather file name using a preFrame (or preRender) mel like so:
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2011\bin\Render.exe" -r mr -cam trackCam -rd E:\blah\maya\projects\blah\images\blah_folder -rt 8 -proj E:\blah\maya\projects\blah -preFrame "setAttr miDefaultOptions.finalGatherMode 2; setAttr mentalrayGlobals.renderMode 3; setAttr miDefaultOptions.finalGatherRebuild 0; setAttr miDefaultOptions.globalIllum 1; setAttr miDefaultOptions.finalGatherFast 1; setAttr -type "string" miDefaultOptions.finalGatherFilename "blah.fgmap"" ; -aml -pad 3 -fnc name.#.ext -s 165 -e 300 -b 3 blah.ma
all the preFrame mels work fine except the last. the problem occures when parsing : setAttr -type "string" miDefaultOptions.finalGatherFilename "blah.fgmap"
google hasn't helped me so far. a page about preFrame/preRender commands suggests surrounding quotes within quotes with a forward slash. it was unclear and didn't work for me. Any suggestions? this is the last step in my quest for full command line render automation!
my second problem is this:
2) i can't get the sysFile command to work at all. "// Result: 0 //" is what i'm getting from my output window, so it seems like it's trying to do it's job but failing. copy, rename, makeDir, none work for me. is this a UAC issue? shouldn't be, because i run everything i can with elevated priviledges.
thanks for your time.
