CMOS images are a little soft so a hint of perceptual sharpening is a benefit
From what i can see the Sharpen node in Nuke is supposed to replicate the Unsharp mask filter node in Fusion and Photoshop. In practice though its not that similar to the Photoshop result.
I would like to build a better version of the Unsharp for Nuke.Like the smart sharpen in Photoshop.
Via carefull A/B comparison I have managed to match the settings on a reference image that has been run through Photoshop with a series of nodes in Nuke. I have had success up to a point.
The Laplacian node in Nuke is supposed to replicate subtraction process in Photoshop but I would like to build a gizmo to do this. Does anyone know the math that is going on in a subtraction? How can i replicate with raw nodes in Nuke?
cheers,
Stinkinmink
