Update Cloth Simulation

Hi All,

I am not a cloth person and facing this problem in a scene I am working on.

There are 3-4 cloth simulations happening in the scene, I modified one of the model's animation but now cloth object is still keeping the earlier state. It doesn't take the new position.

Any thoughts on how to fix it?

Thanks for reply bohne and sorry for delay.

What I mean is I changed the animation on the model, say I moved a hand little and now the hand is coming out of the cloth object. Eventhough the hand is set as collision object I have to resimulate the cloth to take the new positions. Thats what I don't know how to manage. I tried resimulation, but in vain.

Mean time I will try to fix it as per your suggestions and will see, but will keep trying.

ok, that is what i mean. you must go to the frame before you change your animation, truncate the cache and start at this point the simulation again to effect the changes to your simulation. so first make your animation final before you simulate or you must simulate it after every change you do in your animation.
if the animation changes depend only a little bit at your hand, you can try to select the vertices of cloth which you will change an create a resimulation contraint. then you can resimulate the region of cloth in the desired frames. if it looks good you are lucky if not you must do the first way.

wow, what a answer. This is a great help, but not for this problem.

with syflex, the way to change a simulation after a new animation is the same.

lol it's a joke Bohne. To tell you the truth I didn't even read the thread, I just like blanketing the Cloth boards with the occasional "buy syflex" for kicks.

However let's assume noone will go out and buy a $2000 piece of software w/out researching it first.

I can't say that one is better than the other, but I can say that I spent hours on Cloth suffering, and that within an hour of buying Syflex my character was wearing a shirt. Whether that speaks to the quality of the program or just its learning curve, only someone with in-depth knowledge of both can say...
