I went to a talk by Adam Valdez a few months ago and he demonstrated some of the technical setups they use. One was a linked chain being dragged around and sliding off a ground plane. He said it used Maya cloth.
I have managed to get strip of cloth moving aroung nice with a transform constraint, but am currently looking at ways to have a linked chain controlled by the cloth mesh.
The demo they showed almost looked like cloth solver and rigid bodies together, it just looked so fast and cool. I couldn't see the chains interpentrating at all.
Does anyone have an idea on how they did it?
