I would like to know if using Maya menu at high resolution (1900x1200 --> 24 inch monitor) is a problem... well let me explain better. The standard menu on Maya are "windows o.s." related, so changing the font size is quite easy. But what about the other menues like the menu sets (Animation, Polygons, Surfaces, Rendering...) or the hotbox or all the working panels like hypergraph and so on ?
They seems quite small fonts on my 19 CRT monitor, so I'm really scared on buying a 24 and then "kissing the monitor" to be able to read the menu.
Is it possible to choose font height for all those menu ?

Thats kind of small monitor in both size and resolution to what most of us are sitting next to. No, no problems here. My Secondary monitor of that size. (tough i have rotated it 90 degrees as i use it for reading logs, wepgaes and refernces mostly, where having it higher than wide si a boon)
Cant wait to have mu secondary monitor multi touchable.
High resolution is when you gfx card needs to be best of line so you can run your gfx on it. And a large monitor is a 36-50 inch one. Rest are normal graphics screens.
I know that 24 inch LCD are not so high-res... but looking how small fonts are on my 19 CRT I was simply wondering how the hell is possible to read the text on higher resolution... My question is really Maya-GUI-related.
Is there anybody who can post a screen grab of Maya at 1900x1200 or more ? I'll bring that image with me on a usb-pen drive when I'll go to buy my Monitor to see how it looks on 22, 24 or more inch monitor. I'm choosing between an EIZO 2431, 2231 or the new HP 2475...
Anyway is possible to change menu font size in Maya? I read a lot about menu and panel customization but nothing about font size.

Well sure, if you really want that, however this does not mean anything for you unless you look at the screengrab in the 24 inch screen!
So you cant apprise the effect with your old monitor.

But see the screen is also bigger, the actual indivisual pixel size is what matters and simply a 24 inch widescreen for example at 1900 wide is for example has a comparable pixel the the 19 inch screen running 1280x960. Remember the area is comparable too!

Yes off course, the font you set in the windows appearance for menuitems is the font you use in maya. The ok button sizes are govern the hotbox, the sets menu is normal editor text,a nd the menu tesxt size overrides the menus and hotbox drop downs.
