I've got the PLE version 4.5, but i only have a single button mouse. I have to keep this short. Are there any keyboard shortcuts/hacks/etc to gets certain parts of Maya to work better or be more accessible with single button mice?
You can set your prefs for it in the hotkey editor and your maya environment file. But believe me, you ain't gonna learn anything if you don't have the right workflow...just get a 3 button mouse, you'll get nowhere without it in Maya, thats for sure.
There are actualy some things that cant be circumvented in any sane way... And mice are realy cheap!
Yup, owning Maya on the a Mac means to chuck the ol' one button mouse in the drawer and move onto a new three button one. Logitech's two button, middle mouse wheel/button, optical mouse is only like $15 bucks. It will save you in the long run to go ahead and get some sort of 3 button mouse.
By my choice though, I've got an Intuos 2 tablet and I only use the pen. I find it much more comfortable than a mouse. But it's still 3 buttons. So no more Maya.env hacks for me.
