Using text entered in textgrp

I've got a textgrp so the user can enter the data into it. How do I then use that data.
I.E. -->

window
textgrp
button -c (delete object that was entered in textgrp)

also how do you I use any data entered in a window (fieldSlider, intSlider etc...)

Hi,

For textFieldGrp for example:

string $controlName = `textFieldGrp`;

// to get what is entered

string $data = `textFieldGrp -q -text $controlName`;

// to set the text field

textFieldGrp -e -text "Init" $controlName;

The rest of the controls work the same.
