Hi everyone,

Quick question; I can"t select anthing in the UV editor, which is making texturing impossible. As a matter of fact, I can't do any selecting of any kind unless I'm in viewport 2.0, which I don't beleive the UV editor is connected too.

PS, I hope it's not because of my Radeon HD 7970.... I heard good things about this card as a good card for being able to do CG work, AND play games, but I have heard others say very differnt things......Be easier to understand what kind of card I want for my personal uses if most of the internet wasn't so biased with gaphic card companys/technology, lol.

No answers??

I'm still stuck with this. There is no way to select, move, rotate, or anything within the uv editor!?? If I can't figure this out, then Maya is pretty much dead and useless to me :frowning: Just went to select some uvs and manipulate them.....

Do vertices and UV points display in the UV editor? The fact you need VP 2.0 to select anything often indicates a hardware or driver issue. While not officially supported, I've heard good things about the 7970 as well. Have you tried a different driver? Latest drivers are usually not what you want.  Best of luck.

Try to re-create the UV's with automatic mapping, then go to UV material editor and hold right-mouse-button > UV. If the problem still exist, you can allways make use of secondary UV software like: Roadkill (which is also easyer to use)...

Ok, I know this is old now, but for anyone else who this might help, I've figured it out!! Not sure how or if this is any concern for Nvidia card users, but as far as my AMD Radeon goes, I simply went under "gaming" in the Catalyst Control Center and made every option use "application settings", instead of the ATI overrides. Now as I read elsewhere, it sounds like the main setting causing the issue was the AA override, but I just did it for all of them. Also, if you still want some of the overrides for your games, just do this as a specific for Maya only. Again hope this is useful to someone!!!
