Try this:
1) Select your object then go to Matter > Paint.
2) If your texture is not UV mapped, then click the "Convert to UV" button just below the 2D window. Accept with default settings.
3) Hold down and Left-Click in the 3D window. This will select all polygons on your object.
4) Activate "show UV" just below the bottom-right corner of the 2D window.
5) From the "Effects" dropdown menu, choose "Stamp UV's". This will print the UV lines into your image.
Tips:
to change the colour of the UV lines in the 2D window for print, choose a colour from the colour palette and choose the "Set UV colour" option from the "Effects" menu.
Resize your 2D texture before export to make texturing easier (make it much bigger). This will make the UV lines crisper and cleaner as well.
If you press "Cancel" in the Paint tool, then any convert to UV operations performed will also be cancelled. A nice way to export your image without modifying the scene permanently.
Hope this helps,
Matt
