Video Card ??

Can anyone tell me which version of the Geforce card is the latest.. is it the Geforce 2 GTS .... and which of these cards will be the best/cheaper solution to be able to work with Maya3.0 or other major 3D packages. I'm looking for some solution around $300 ....
I also keep reading about tweaks that you can do to a GeForce card to make it run faster..is it pretty straightforward.. I have no experience with the soldering aspect of electronics... has anyone in my position attempted it.. and have you found any success.....

The Hercules 32MB PROPHET2 MX 4X AGP W/B is around $125 ....and the Leadtek GEFORCE2 MX 32MB 4XAGP VGA
is around the same price... are these cards any good with Maya and other major 3d applications.... are there any good cards worth considering around $300 + or - ...

Win2000 lets you use a dual monitor setup.. can I do that with the AGP slot (for my 3d application) and the motherboard's default video card for the other monitor. for other applications..... or some other PCI card.... would I have any problem here.. with Maya or any other major 3d Application.....
thanks.

The latest Geforce is the Geforce2 GTS ultra, I personally have an elsa gladiac and thinks its great! there are many articles on the net about "unlocking" features of your geforce card so that it becomes an Quadro card, I don't know if it works, but if you are the adventurous type (i'm not..), you might want to try it. the geforce 2 MX cards are the worst in terms of performance, they barely outperform the original geforce 256, but if you want dual monitor set up, you'll need one of these.

What do you guys think is better:
Nvidia Quadro2 MXR or
3D labs GVX1
I think both have 32M on board. the Quadro dual display option seems tempting.
Thanks.

Oxygen GVX1 kills all of them. I have one and you would be hard pressed to find a card that most houses use other than a GVX1.
