Video In Animation?

i've been involved with acad for over a decade now and i'm just starting to learn 3Ds. One of my objectives involves creating an output that has video contained within the final animation...an example would be a walk-through that has a football game (example) playing on a widescreen tv in a living room.

i've searched the net briefly, but cannot find anything relevant to what i am conceiving. i figured before i start to pull my hair out in an attempt to figure this out on my own, i'd poll the many experienced developers out there.

any response with what you know would be greatly appreciated!

The way I found to do it is by putting the video as a material on the screen of the tv. It works. . .but I found it hard to control when it starts. For example if you wanted to delay the start til a specific frame.

thank you for your help! i put it to the test and it works great. i figured how to delay the video sequence until the camera renders the scene with the video: it's just a matter of running the animation to determine the time before the scene and then adding blank frames to the video material so that it synchs perfectly.

You could also render to TARGA files to use to put back together later in post w/ Adobe Premier. That way it'll be easier to time the video playing on the tv, if you cut scenes, it be real easy, but if it has no cuts and is essentially a walk through, then your way would work fine.
