Hi,
For those of you who are waiting like me on a video preview feature in Nuke, here's a little solution that I found. Not a replacement for the real thing, but very helpful anyway.
This will work on a Windows system with a Blackmagic card.
You'll need to download and install two programs :
Media Player Classic (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/). It might also work with other media players but I haven't tested it.
VH Screen Capture Driver. (http://www.hmelyoff.com/index.php?section=4). From their website :"VH Screen Capture Driver is a DirectShow filter, which emulates Video Capture card and captures screen activity.
Activate the desktop feature of the Blackmagic card so that you can see windows's desktop on your video monitor. (Don't forget to select the right resolution, PAL or NTSC).
Configure the VH Screen Capture Driver. Select a portion of your screen, and modify the width and height to match the video resolution you're going to use in Nuke.
Open Media Player Classic. Go to 'File/Open Device...' In the Video drop down list select the VH Driver. Click OK.
You now see the portion of the screen that you previously defined being displayed in the player.
Drag the Media Player Classic window on the video monitor. Double-click it to make it go fullscreen. (Beware : single-clicking pauses the video).
Start Nuke. Open a viewer and place the picture in the area that you defined for the capture driver. Remember to disable the pixel aspect ratio scaling in the viewer (CTRL-P).
For me this works quite well. The colors seem accurate, when compared to an After Effects video output I see no difference. The only problem is that it can't display a realtime playback.
I hope this helps.
Regards.
Donat
