I'm making the switch from max to maya and I've run into a small problem. When the scene I"m working on started getting high in poly count some of my viewports started going grey. First my perspective view, like the mesh was disappearing into the background or something. I've tried pushing a and selecting things and pushing f but it's as if it has disappeared in that view. Any suggestions?
open the camera attribute editor and increas the far clip plane. This should do the trick.

nope that didn't do anything, the side view has greyed out to so I know it's not the clipping.
well i've narrowed it down...when I hit the a key which normally just zooms out it is greying the viewport...and the f key isn't bringing it back in.
When you can's see anything, it goes grey, select the camera in the outliner and see if anything looks strange in the channel box. Maybe this will help a little.
