Visibility Question

hello all - i've run into an odd problem with this particular scene that i'm working with... whenever i create an new object... be it light, geometry, bone chain... and save the scene, the object's visibility will be turned off... when i try to switch it back on the property page looks like this:

any ideas on what's going on?

It's possible that you have an override applied to a pass/partition that affect the visibility property. Open the Explorer, switch to Passes, and expand the Background_Object_Partition in the current pass. Check for a green icon, and delete it.

If the problem is elsewhere I have no idea what it is
