OK not sure where to post this one!
Is there a way to selectively show individual sub meshes (and hide all others) within a mesh.
Ultimately I want to create a simple tool (ideally MEL/C++, if it's easier in python I'll give it a go...) which will provide a way of cycling visibility of each distinct manifold within a mesh.
Maya is vast, can somebody tell me if there is an existing tool to do this in Maya?
How would you approach this?
Currently I'm thinking of using combine/separate operations under the hood. This method seems a bit messy, but aside from that are there any major issues to be aware of with this approach?
