Volume measuring tool in Max

Hello,
I have quite complicated object imported to 3ds Max from some other 3d software. I wanted to measure volume of the object, and what I have now is a number that ends with "* cu". Doest this mean close up? Is this measurement OK? And what * does mean then?
And, is there a way to make this measurement more accurate then?
