i have a voodoo 3 AGP and i am running maya. but my graphic card doesn't support openGL when running maya. and this the warrning that maya gives.

does anyone know if it is possible for my voodoo3 to use openGL when running maya 4.
no, buy a new card. Voodoo and Maya do not mix.

unlike the geforce cards and the ati radeon cards the Voodoo cards ONLY do Full Screen opengl Maya needs Windowed opengl
your nto doing 3d all over the maya lay out only say in your perspective view or the 4 veiws or what ever the rest of maya is not 3d accelerated
the Voodoos cant do this why i dont know but it just wasnt built into t hem and has never been
so if you want hardware accelerated opengl youll need to get a new vid card
you should beable to get a 32 mb Geforce 2 gts really cheap now hell back in January i only payed with shipping US $200 for an Elsa Gladiac 2 gts (geforce 2 gts 32mb) and nwo with the softquadro drives i am now running a quadro 2 and its smoking all for 200 bucks and i bet is even less now
