Ok, I've been using maya for a long time and I've never seen this issue.
Simply put : objects parented under a null no longer move when I move the null. Or scale it, or rotate it. And yes, these objects have inherit transform on. If you turn it off, the child object MOVES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION when you move the null!!
To strip this problem down to its essentials I tried to replicate it in a very simple scene, and it occurs.
I start maya.
I create an empty scene.
I create a cube "pCube1"
I create a null "null1"
I parent the cube under the null.
I move the null: the cube stays where it is.
If I turn off "inherit transform" on the null, and move it, the cube moves in the opposite direction. (as in, if I move the null +10 on the x axis, the cube will move -10 on the x axis.)
If I select the cube itself and move it, it moves normally.
This problem is suddenly affecting all my scenes, or at least all the scenes I've opened in the last half hour.
Did I hit some voodoo setting by accident?
This is maya 2013 x64, on windows 7.
Is my install broken? (My output window is blank. I don't think it was blank before.)
Am I dreaming? Am I going to suddenly wake up in a sweat and go online to find this post doesn't exist and this never happened?
