Who Broke My Shake?

im at the office and i have two comp programs to work on..... shake or AE

of course my choice is SHAKE

anyway, since this is a PC environment im still using 2.5 and for the last week I noticed that evrytime I render a fileout as a quicktime my .mov file comes out as 0kb.

tried reinstalling both programs (quicktime and shake) but its still doing the same thing.

HELP - i dont want to go layer based.....

I know we had the same problem here, I don't know how and I don't know why, but if we rendered it a second time it worked.

launch/render shake from the command line and let us know what errors it gives. It's probably something really simple.

quicktime error - 50

or something pretty close to that.

Can't you export an image sequence?
Just hope you don't export to FCP (which doesn't accept image sequences as a single clip but takes it as a series of stills)
If that's not your case you could just output if/tiff/tga files...
I'm just trying to get you out of the layered-based mess!!!
AfterEffects has funky plugins though, and the latest animation presets can make some tedious tasks pretty easy... But for compositting... LOL

That error shows up when you have the file open somewhere. You can't overwrite a quicktime that is currently open (even someone on the network viewing it).
