Why isn't it a save option in the render options of XSI3? It looks like any other property page , but there's not save option. I'm using the Kim Aldis scripts but I wish it was integrated in the software.

Hi GrandStrategue,
There are a couple of things you can do to save your pass/render options.
You can create a scene with nothing in it (well, just the basic things when you create a new scene), save this scene somewhere, and launch XSI by double-clicking on that scene. This way you'll always have the same render options when you launch XSI.
Change the render options as you like, and save this a script. Run the script to set the render options. You'll have to modify your script to make it non-explicit, in other words you'll have to make it general, not related to a specific pass.
When you want to create a new pass, duplicate the default pass instead of using the create new pass functions. The render options will be those of the default pass, but you'll have to build the overrides from scratch.
Use the Render Pass Info add-on that you'll find here:http://www.xsibase.com/scripts/rendering.php?detail=294http://www.xsibase.com/scripts/rendering.php?detail=294It is a pass management tool.
Something you may want to try but doesn't to work in that particular case: edit the Render Options spdl. Warning: only go this way carefully. Messed up spdls may result software malfunctions, requiring that you re-install XSI.To edit the spdl, open the Render Options ppg, hold down the Ctrl and Shift key, and right-click on "Render Options" located right under the Render button (the one preceeded by an arrow). This will open a text file in Notepad. This is the spdl file. Then in the spdl, find the parameters you wish to change and edit them. When you are happy, just save the file, close XSI and relaunch. You can do a Reload spdl, but I prefer to close and launch. To quickly find the parameters in that long text file, open the Script Editor, change the parameter in question in the Render Options, look at the History Log of the Script Editor. You'll see the parameter name at the end of the command. Search for this word in the spdl file.
Hope this helpsSalutations - CheersBernard Lebel
