Why won't XSI play nice with the Explorer Bar

OK.. I'm new to XSI and I perfer to keep my exploerer bar unhiddne to the right side of my screen but I fI do that and open XSI the right side of XSI gets cropped off. Am I missing something?? Why won't XSI resize to fit the screen space minus the explorer bar????
