Widescreen stuff?

Hi All

i'm pretty new to 2D graphics, I am doing some projects in Widescreen. I was wondering what the best way to get it is? I can export standard PAL with 1.422 pa ratio and it goes into Premiere and Avid fine for export to tape.

But how do I get it to run in widescreen when I export it a quicktime or avi for web work? Is there a filter or somthing or do I have to use different settings?

Thanks

Chris

I don't quite understand what you want to do but if you want to export widescreen video footage into a compressed download friendly web video file then I would recommend to nest the widescreen footage into a composition that is proportionally smaller than the original and keep the PAR of the composition the same as the original footage is.

The PAR of the widescreen video is dependent on wether you have true widescreen footage or letter boxed files.
The latter one would not require to keep the widescreen PAR instead you have to squash the composition vertically and then resize it in another one.

Besides that I would use a compressing program like Sorenson Squeeze, Canopus Procoder or Cleaner XL in order to create the final video clips for web from the After Effects exported uncompressed resized files.

Hope this answers your question.

Make it any size you want, but retain your aspect ratio
