Win2k with geforce setup

hi all - I remembered someone quite a while ago described a process for installing a geforce 2 under win2k that gave them added performance - etc. This process also had something to do with 4*agp drivers for athlon, and tweaks or something like that.

If anyone has the vaguest ide what I'm talking about - could they please run the process by me again?
-Cheers

you need to get the latest 4-in-1 agp drivers from VIA and install them. it will make your system run at least twice as fast. as far as the bios settings go, you'll have to wait untill i get home. good bios settings can improve performance up to 50%....most people don't know what all the settings do in the bios (including me!) but i think i have my system finally figured out. what motherboard do you have? also, go to www.geforcefaq.com for a lot of good readin'. and of course there is www.guru3d.com where you can download the registry hacks to overclock your geforce2 card. stay tuned for my bios settings. by the way, i'm running win2k with an abit kt7 and elsa gladiac ultra. works solid and fast.

If you have a KT7A, I have BIOS settings posted on a thread here. I have made a few updates since, but they still make it rock.

www.viahardware.com for the 4.29 4-in-1 drivers that came out yesterday, and try the 10.80 Detonators from www.m3dzone.com in their file section.

And read about my exploits at http://eastvan.com/oc !

Have fun,
Sean

thanks guys I'll stay tuned for those bios settings - I'm running an asus board and an abit board - so anything will help.
are the 10.80 drivers stable? - i never knew they existed!!!!!
Cheers - thanks again.

tried to instal the 10.80 detonators but it wouldn't read it, windows kept defaulting back to the 6.67 drivers.....need to uninstall them and install the 10.80s. it was late and i was tired so i said screw it. i did manage to install the latest via service pack 4.29 and saw my 3dmark score jump from 6879 to 6915, a whopping 36 points. hopefully the 10.80s will help even more. this is still stock, no overclocking the card YET.

about my BIOS, this is what i have right now.....to all, feel free to offer suggestions if you see something amiss. there are a couple of things i'm not sure about and if you see it is the wrong setting let me know. my system is stable and fast enough so i don't mess with it too much. What follows is not a complete list of all BIOS features, only the important ones.

Note: These settings are for Abit KT7 motherboards and may or may not work with your particular system. Screwing around with your BIOS can completely F your system so be careful...ask questions before you go changing things.

On my Geforce256, I have the AGP settings to MANUAL driving and EA for the value. I've also shadowed all of my memory regions, even though I SHOULD be looking at which ones I need too and just doing those (I'm LAZY!) The rest is pretty much the way it is for me, as well, except I have my driving set to 3 for the chip. This is due to the OC'ing.
