I'm sure this question has been asked before, but i can't find it...
I'm trying to use a wire deformer for my subdiv-head... there is no error or warning, and the wire node appears in the inputs of the subdiv. But the curve has still no effect... i tried it with nurbs and polys and both works fine (same model converted), only the subdiv won't move...
any ideas?
Edit: Oh, i think there is something wrong with my subdiv... no deformer works and i get errors when i want to switch to poly proxy mode...
// Error: polyToSubdiv1 (Poly To Subdiv Node): The conversion to a subdivision surface failed: // Some vertex valences exceed maximum allowable valence limit. // To increase the valence limit, change option found in Convert to Subdiv Options. // The indices of the vertices in question are: 101, 102. // // Error: Command polyToSubdiv failed. Open Script Editor for details. //

Noting wrong you don't just see how subds are implemented.
See whenever you switch form subdiv to polygon proxy your history your node gets converted to a polygon object. with history input. And whan you change back that history get collapsed. So basically once you rid the history you can nolonger keep switching form proxy to nonplroxy mode. (or you can but only if you understand how to use history)
So here you cant just use all the same things you did when modelling once its bound. (instead make a conert node andf switch visibility between theese)
oh now i found the problem.... there were two vertices in the model that seemed to share too many edges... i deleted them and now it works - but thanks for your answer!
