I am following the Advanced Character Modeling video with Doug Law -
except instead of a human character, I am doing a dog. It's actually a
relatively simple model.
When I create the low poly version, the skeleton, then smooth bind
to the poly, then wrap the high resolution nurbs model to the low poly,
it takes forever to do any operation. My disk is trashing and one time,
Maya gave me an out of memory error (undo last operation).
I am running with 512MB ram and over 2.5GB swap.
Does wrap take a ton of memory? In the video, he seems to have no
problems at all, with a more detailed model even.
BTW, I have a fur description on the Nurbs dog - maybe that's it?
Thanks.
