XSI AND Maya = Crash?

If I have a maching that has both Maya 4 and XSI 2.0 installed, would that cause XSI to crash all the time? I can load up and work for a bit, but sometimes the machine freezes or crashes. Maya works fine though. thanks for the help

I have found that I cannot run Houdini and XSI at the same time, multiple of each one but not both, I have had Maya and xsi on my machine running fine with less isssues, but no longer use Maya, but I didn't have to do anything fancy except have multiple flexlm setups running and then it was fine, sorry I'm don't have a solution why it might be crashing if you can start it.

I have had Maya and XSI running on the same machine without any problems. I have even ran them both at the same time! Yes I know...I know..too much work to close 1 of the applications

Anyways....Are you running XSI 2.0 or higher?
If you are running XSI 1.5 which I think uses flexlm then that's probably your problem since both Maya and XSI 1.5 use that for licensing? I'm not to sure on this...just a guess.

Well, the more I thikn about it, the more I think it is a hardware conflict. I have an AMD 2000, KT333 VIA mobo and a geforce3 ti200. even on a clean install EITHER program fails, regarless of if both are installed or not. I have an old system with a geforece 2 mx that was stable as hell, I might have to put that into my new box until I figure things out.

Anyone have a less sever suggestion?

I haven't used the new GF3's at all, but I'd hop on over to softimages website and make sure you are using the approved driver revision...it isn't always the ones that ship with the card.
