Xsi crashes while try to render

I am a new user of xsi. My xsi crashes while I try to render using the Q short key. It happens every single time and says "not responding" in the title bar. I don't get this problem while I am modeling. Any suggestion how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have an ATI card? (that might be the problem.) Try updating your drivers. If all else fails, get a video card that is certified for XSI.

Thank you Ed. I haven't thought of that. May be you're right. Could be the video card that needs to be upgraded. I need to upgrade it any way. Thank you again.
