Anybody interested in seeing XSI ported to the new Pentium Duo line of Apple computers should probably send an email to Softimage, preferably sales@softimage.com because those are the ones who might make a difference if they get enough emails...
I recall the repeated response of Alias to questions about a Mac version of Maya was always "We have no plans to do a Mac port at this time" right up until they announced they'd be developing a Mac port. But when they announced it they said it was "due to the volume of requests for a Mac version" so apparently democracy works.
I sent an email requesting to know if they plan in the near future to release XSI and Face Robot to OS X. I'm interested in using these products especially since Autodesk doesn't seem to be doing much with their release of Maya 2008 from Maya 8.5. Also the company's plan to not release a 64-bit version of Maya on OS X when all Apple systems including the iMac are now running Intel Core 2 Duo processors (64-bit capable).
On a side note, has anyone tried running XSI on Parallels Desktop 3.0 or VMware Fusion for OS X Tiger?
