XSI Pivot Points

Is there a way to arbitrarily adjust a pivot point in XSI like in Maya? Also, is there a way to "lock down" the pivot point for use in further transformations (possibly of other objects/components) as in Maya?

Use the Center mode. Click on the Center button in the MCP and here you go.

now is it possible to return all values to zero after relocating your pivot point. once i do this, the pivot point goes back to the world origin?

to send a pivot back to an object's center use the "center to vertices" command

Sorry, I'm new to XSI... what's the MCP and where is the Center Mode button? Does this tool allow you to place the pivot wherever you want?

The MCP is the Main Control Panel. In other words, the right toolbar.

The Center mode is the Center button next the big arrow in the upper part of the MCP (under the Group button). It allows you to move the center wherever you want.
