Xsi shader plugins - how do i use them?

really dumb question here..
ive just started out using soft image and downloaded some shader plugins from this site - where do i put them and do i have to convert them first before i can use them??
the files have a ".preset" extension name...
i have no idea
please help

Just drag the shader (from an explorer or browser) on top of the object that you want to assign it to.
